This one is just for the web
It's weird. I held off posting here because I didn't want it emailed out. What does that mean?
With all their talk of Facebook now charging a fortune for business owners to post links on their own content on Meta's platform, the web is going to come back into vogue.

This has been rolling out for a while now, but seems to have hit NZ this week. And yes, capture the audience and make them dependent on the platform when it is free, and then charge them for the service if a pretty old playbook. What's different is the very steep charges that Meta seems to be slapping on this. I genuinely think some businesses are going to go under. Because they won't have the same eyeballs on web traffic compared to competitors that do cough up on Meta platforms.
I guess we don't yet know how much of a difference an inability to post links (e.g. to a web shop selling actual goods).
But back to my original point. I think I've not been posting as much because I think me being in people's inboxes would piss them off. I guess not doing the psychology thing any more and pivoting to other things - like continuing with The TechPacker and my new @DoctorSarb IG account focused on my own body and psyche means that I'm unsure who my tribe is anymore, and whether those people who the email would go out to would appreciate it.
So, I'm just not going to bother emailing my posts for a while. Call it insecurity, but actually, it's quite liberating.
A little vogue of my own, if you will.
