Fully dialed into NZ v India

Twenty days of cricket goodness started yesterday - I'm all in. You?

What a start. The BlackCaps set their record total against India on New Zealand soil, yet India's batting depth meant that they were able to cruise to 226 to win the match in the final over.

The pitch was a lot better than this guy makes out

Great batting performance by NZ, but when you concede over 90 runs in the Powerplay when defending your total, you're going to struggle.

And that start time ... I mean, I know it's all for India TV because that's where the audience for this series is, but when you start at 8pm NZ time, and you take almost 2 HOURS to get through the first innings, that's a very late night for all involved. I bailed at 11pm after that powerplay. I might catch up with the highlights at some point, but the series will already have moved on by Saturday - another 8pm start in Christchurch.

I have a ticket for the Wellington T20 on Tuesday night next week. At the moment, the weather looks atrocious, and its 8pm on a mid-week school night. It's no wonder this is the venue with the poorest ticket sales in the whole venue. I mean, the Hnry Stadium is freezing on the best of days.

It will be tundra on Tuesday. Could be an early night if the forecast rain materialises too.
